TRADITIONAL LITERARY NOVEL OF THE AFGHAN WAR
The literary counterpart to Afghany Whammy, for those curious and bold enough to seek a great big old-fashioned traditional war novel along the lines of The Naked & The Dead, Once an Eagle, The Caine Mutiny, Matterhorn, The 13th Valley, and the like. Check out TATTOO ZOO by clicking the book cover below to read the first 60 pages of the paperback in PDF:

POSTCARDS FROM AFGHANISTAN
During the various years spent in Afghanistan first as a Green Beret then as a freelance journalist, I used my own photographs to create email postcards to send to family and friends worldwide as a way to let them know that I was alive and well . . . . and to give them an ironic bit of an insight into the country, culture, and the war . . . . through laughter. To view and/or download PDFs of two books of the postcards, click the two front covers below:

FLIRTING WITH AFGHANISTAN

This is a magazine-length essay from 2008 arguing the above Wasting Money In Afghanistan in great detail . . . . laying out the case that it would ultimately take the U.S. another 13 years to admit . . . . that the war was folly and unwinnable.
